Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda launched the Surakshit Matritva Aashwasan (SUMAN) Roadmap 2030 on 29 June 2026 at the 16th CCHFW conference in New Delhi.

  • Target: maternal mortality ratio (MMR) below 70 per 100,000 live births by 2030.
  • Coverage: 130 districts in 13 high-focus states, including Assam, Bihar, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

  • Facilities: Birth Waiting Homes and obstetric high dependency units, plus centres of excellence.
