SEBI Project Jagrook: brokers to show investor awareness messages
Why in the news
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) issued a circular on 1 October 2026 directing stock brokers to display investor awareness messages on their trading apps and websites under Project Jagrook.
Key facts
- Project Jagrook is SEBI’s nationwide initiative for investor education and protection, rolled out alongside World Investor Week 2026.
- Messages will be provided by SEBI and shown along with the existing risk disclosures prescribed in a SEBI circular of 19 May 2023.
- Stock exchanges and depositories must inform their members, publish the messages on their own websites and amend bye-laws where needed.
- Legal basis: Section 11(1) of the SEBI Act, 1992.
