India’s Foreign Policy: Jaishankar Talks on China, Bangladesh, Gaza
Why in the news
EAM Jaishankar held talks with China and Bangladesh and restated India’s line on Gaza and Ukraine.
India-China
- Met Wang Yi at the G20 in Johannesburg; discussed mutual trust, border peace and cooperation in SCO and BRICS.
- Beijing said exchanges at all levels were restored.
- Also discussed: Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, flights, rivers and travel.
India-Bangladesh
- Met Touhid Hossain in Oman.
- Bangladesh wanted SAARC revived; India said terrorism cannot be normalised and favoured BIMSTEC, which has Thailand but not Pakistan.
